Sujet: Billy, jeune garçon engagé dans un ranch, aide le fils du patron à élever Gabilan, son poney. Mais le père ne parvient pas à s'intéresser a la vie du ranch. Il prend conscience de son bonheur lorsque Gabilan se tue par accident. Pour refaire sourire son fils, persuade que son poney est mort à cause de Billy, Fred fait naitre un poulain.
